There are ways to support Wildlife Mississippi other than by becoming an annual
member or by making a cash gift. They include gifts of real estate (fee simple or
through a conservation easement), securities (stocks, bonds or funds) and by planned
giving (such as a charitable remainder trust).
GIFTS OF REAL ESTATE
There are two main ways to contribute real estate: by donating it outright or by
granting a conservation easement on all or part of your property. Donating an easement
allows you to maintain ownership, with certain restrictions on uses such as making
major land use changes.
GIFTS OF SECURITIES
Stocks, bonds or funds can be contributed to Wildlife Mississippi. There are certain
tax advantages to donating appreciated stocks or other securities. Gifts of securities
can be made directly through your broker. You can also contribute part of an Individual
Retirement Account to Wildlife Mississippi to create a conservation legacy.
PLANNED GIVING
Mississippi ranks No. 1 in donating to charity and most Mississippians don’t give
to charity solely for their own financial benefit. Major donors appreciate thoughtful
gift structuring that reduces their cost of giving, addresses estate planning concerns
and maximizes the effectiveness of the gift. Wildlife Mississippi offers this kind
of structuring to its donors. The charitable remainder trust is a popular way to
make charitable contributions. It lets donors make major gifts now while keeping
income from the assets for use during their lifetime.
