Our magazine, Wildlife Mississippi, is published quarterly and distributed
to our members and supporters. In it, you will learn about the hallmark of our work
across Mississippi, our fish and wildlife habitat projects. You will also read about
the efforts of our elected officials to support important conservation work on private
and public lands. Landowners will learn what they can do improve wildlife populations,
improve water quality and enhance their outdoor recreation experiences. And you
will read about the wide array of species and habitats that make up our state’s
rich natural heritage. Become a member of Wildlife Mississippi
and start receiving the magazine, or give a membership as a gift to someone special.
In 2011, Wildlife Mississippi published a report summarizing
its first decade of conservation progress in Mississippi. Since then, we have expanded
our work on the Mississippi coast and across the state.
Our new Mississippi Gulf Coast staff has been hard at work developing a conservation
strategy in response to great challenges such as the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil
spill and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Read our "Restoring the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A Strategic Plan for Wildlife, People and the Economy,"
published this year.
You can also download our landowner handbooks
on such topics as the conservation provisions of the Farm Bill, conservation easements,
and the restoration of longleaf pine forests and native prairies.
