James L. Cummins, Wildlife Mississippi’s Executive Director, wrote a series of articles for Wildlife Mississippi magazine called “So Now You Have the Old Home Place,” which provided detailed information on effective conservation practices and general management

In the articles, originally published in 2011 and 2012, James draws on his own experiences in managing properties that have been in his family since the early 1800s. He writes about such topics as habitat managment, wildlife management, cabins, barns and other buildings, and economic considerations.
