Wildlife Mississippi works with the Mississippi River Trust, the Lower Mississippi River Conservation Committee and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, with funding from the Walton Family Foundation, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, to develop a large-scale project to restore the active floodplain of the Lower Mississippi River. Landowners begin signing up for reforestation through Wetland Reserve Easements.
