Wildlife Mississippi works with Congress to further conservation and forestry under the 2008 Farm Bill. The organization helps establish the Emergency Forest Restoration Program, to help private landowners recover from natural disasters; the Endangered Species Recovery Program, to help avoid new species listings and recover listed species; the Healthy Forests Reserve Program, which also promotes the recovery of imperiled species; and a provision to assist landowners in controlling invasive species.
